I will be completely honest with you when I say this isn’t strictly a baby-step creation, but more of a ‘life hack’. But since this is an absolutely necessary, can no longer live my life without it hallelujah moment, I’m bending the rules just this once.
Since being introduced to the ever popular material hair ties by my friend Renie, it’s been the bane of my existence to store them in a useful manner. I find myself using old jewellery boxes, but they end up overflowing onto the side table/bathroom/kitchen bench as I dive down to find a colour that complements my outfit. I know, I know, this is a serious case of the first world problems, but nonetheless – what to do??
Now I didn’t come up with this idea, but damned if I can find the site I first saw it on. I apologise profusely to the clever lady (I’m assuming) that thought of this! All you’ll need are your abundance of stretchy hair ties and a couple of carabiners (I picked mine up from Officeworks).
Because I can be a perfectionist, I sorted my ties into warm and cool colours…
…and then slipped them on one by one.
And how simple is that! Now they’re orderly, I can grab which ever one I’m after without a total blow out, and easily keep them tidy again by closing the clip.
To make this 5 minute project even better, I got some stick on hooks and popped them in the bathroom cabinet for easy storage. Cute eh?
